Bosch Introduces OE-Quality QuietCast Medium Duty Disc Brake Pads

Bosch has introduced a new series of QuietCast Medium Duty Premium Disc Brake Pads, expanding the QuietCast brake products line with the addition of 24 popular Medium Duty Brake Pad numbers.

QuietCast Medium Duty Premium Disc Brake Pads are manufactured using OE friction formulas or friction formula upgrades. Coverage now extends to Class 3 – 7 truck applications. QuietCast Medium Duty Pads are designed to give medium duty vehicles superior braking performance: stopping power, increased pad life, quiet stops, low dust and great pedal feel.

“Our blends of friction material are application-selected based on a host of factors that affect vehicle braking. Obvious factors include vehicle weight and typical duty cycles for medium duty truck,” said David Terry, senior product manager for Friction, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Brake Components North America. “But more subtle considerations include rotor diameter and thickness, and even caliper bracketry. Friction compounds are carefully selected to assure quiet, reliable and long-lived braking on all types of vehicles.”

QuietCast Medium Duty Pad packaging is differentiated to reflect the medium duty vehicle applications and the associated product attributes. The packaging’s color graphic label includes an image of a medium duty pad to make it easier for the installer to recognize the box as a medium duty application. 

“Bosch is the OE brake system supplier for many of these medium duty applications, and we are excited to continue our tradition of tailoring our OE products for the Aftermarket,” Terry said.

Comebacks are a hot topic today. You need to track
all comebacks, determine the reason (tech error, part error, training issue,
other) and then calculate the true cost of the comeback.
Here are a few things to consider:
• The loss of time when performing the comeback; time that the tech can use to
perform other work and generate profit;
• The misc costs, such as overhead costs, supplies, cleaners, etc.;
• Towing costs, rental, etc.;
• Cost to morale;
• Reputation damage; and
• Reduction to your profit margin.
For every part issue, you need to
inform your supplier. Sit down with suppliers on a regular basis. Don’t return defective
parts until you have listed the parts, and maintain a report. Document
everything.
Part issues are increasing. Every shop
owner I speak to is frustrated over this.
Remember, comebacks kill your bottom
line. The more comebacks you have, the more they’re killing your profits.
