ACDelco Enhances E-Commerce Capabilities

ACDelco has announced enhancements to its e-commerce offerings.

Mobile capability with VIN scanning and the ability to accommodate unlimited users are the latest enhancements for independent service centers that use ACDelco WIP, the brand’s online parts ordering system. ACDelco says these improvements are the first of many upcoming plans that are the result of moving its e-business tool to a single vendor, WHI Solutions of Rye Brook, N.Y.

WIP allows ACDelco suppliers to offer their full inventory of parts for all makes and models to Independent Service Centers (ISCs), along with real-time availability, price and labor. A single-vendor approach also benefits ACDelco suppliers with better economies of scale and growth opportunities, the company adds.

“WIP has a lot of great features with unique benefits, like our specialty catalogs. We are constantly updating our product to make it the best choice to support the independent aftermarket business,” said Stephen Sigg, global e-commerce manager. “Our new WIP arrangement allows us to release new functionality more quickly. In the coming months, our users will see many positive changes.”

Sigg said that along with improved functionality, WIP will retain the features users rely upon. WIP remains the source for the ACDelco specialty catalogs: Illustrated, Battery, Chemical and Pigtail.

Other WIP features include routing and tracking deliveries, access to longstanding national ePromotions (Massachusetts excluded) for GM Service Information (GMSi) and Technical Information System (TIS2Web); the ACDelco Community exclusively for WIP professionals; and the Feedback button to help ensure WIP meets user needs; and the Home Tab to shop for ACDelco Supplier custom items.
