The Advance Auto Parts Foundation (AAPF) donated $1.75 million to several nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting veterans across the United States. This funding, contributed by more than 100 supplier partners of Advance Auto Parts, will aid in employment support for female veterans, provide custom homes for injured veterans and offer frontline support to veterans at risk for suicide.

This marks the second consecutive year that AAPF has supported Hire Heroes USA in Alpharetta, Georgia; Building Homes for Heroes in Island Park, New York; and Stop Soldier Suicide in Durham, North Carolina, with a combined total of $3.75 million donated over this period.

Elisabeth Eisleben, president of the Advance Auto Parts Foundation, expressed the organization’s commitment to the veteran community.

“The military veteran community is one of the Advance Auto Parts Foundation’s three focus areas, and we are proud to partner with our suppliers to support critical needs within that community,” she said. “Our veterans have earned the opportunity for meaningful employment, appropriate housing and mental health care, all of which are fundamental to their wellbeing.”

Hire Heroes USA’s Women Veterans Program, which received initial funding from AAPF to start, will continue to benefit from the foundation’s support. This program, dedicated to addressing the unique employment needs of female veterans, successfully assisted over 2,000 women in finding jobs last year.

Building Homes for Heroes will allocate its gift towards the Advance Auto Parts Foundation Rapid Response Program. This initiative provides immediate financial assistance to veterans facing urgent situations. Last year, the program supported 130 veterans and their families, thanks to funding from AAPF, the foundation said.

Additionally, Stop Soldier Suicide plans to use its gift to sustain the wellness team expansion initiated with a previous donation from AAPF. This expansion has enabled the organization to deliver personalized, suicide-specific care at no cost to over 300 veterans, helping them to progress towards recovery.

“Each of these gifts will provide life-changing support to deserving veterans across the U.S,” Eisleben said. “Our foundation’s leadership was pleased by what was accomplished by our gifts to these organizations last year – literally thousands of veterans were helped – and we look forward to additional support of veterans and their families as AAPF remains focused on veteran needs.”
