AACF Expedites Help For California’s Aftermarket Fire Victims

Knowing that California is home to many aftermarket industry employees, the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation is expediting help for industry families in need.

The L.A. Times reported that there are 17 wildfires burning in California, including one of the deadliest fires in the history of the state with more than 12,300 firefighters on the lines and more than 280,000 acres burned. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that there seems to be no end in sight to California’s wildfires.

Knowing that California is home to many aftermarket industry employees, the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) is expediting help for industry families in need.

“We urgently need industry support in a couple of key ways,” said Joel Ayres, AACF executive director. “Companies with California employees, dealers or shops are urged to send email or text message notifications to those who might be affected to provide a link to the AACF online application for aid.

“Industry members can help us raise emergency funds for the relief effort by visiting http://bit.ly/AACF-Cares,” continued Ayres. “As with last year’s unprecedented hurricane season, the wildfires in California are catastrophic and ongoing. Our mission is to provide emergency gap funding to aftermarket employees in times of crisis when they have nowhere else to turn.”

Donations of any amount are welcome, but donations of $2,500 or more are most needed. For more information, contact Joel Ayres at 916-628-0271, or email to [email protected].
