Bosch Expands Training Offerings; Adds Course In Advance Gasoline Direct Injection

Bosch has announced that it is expanding its repertoire of training courses to include an advanced course on Gasoline Direct Injection Technology (GDI) for automotive technicians. This one-day class will be offered in various locations throughout the United States and will launch in 2013.

Ben Johnson’s expertise in the automotive aftermarket industry began on the shop floor and grew through his career as he moved from owning his own auto repair center to his current position as Director of Product Management for Mitchell 1, a leading provider of Repair Information, Shop Management Software and CRM solutions to the Automotive Aftermarket. In between, he developed expertise in vehicle technology at Delphi as Director of Global Product Development for Service Tools and Educational Products, at the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) as a Project Manager, and in other leadership positions in product management and diagnostic platforms in the automotive industry.

A few months ago, my mom passed away. She lived a long and fruitful life working hard as a single mother to ensure her three children had food on the table, a roof over their head and clothes on their back. Not an easy feat in the early 1960s in a small, western NY town. Looking back at my upbringing, I recall we didn’t have as much “stuff” as my friends in school, but one thing she always had for us was her time and love.

The shop is an Auto Club of SoCal Approved Auto Repair Facility and an Auto Value Certified Service Center. O’Neill sits on the NASTF Service Information/Communications Committees; he is an ASE CMAT-L1, Calif. Smog Check Technician and an AMI AAM Accredited Automotive Manager. Jim also completed Northwood University’s Leadership 2.0 course in 2009.
