The GAAS Scholarship Fund Is Now ‘Open For Business’

The GAAS Scholarship Fund is now “open for business,” taking applications for 2016 scholarships on line at automotivescholarships.com. GAAS, the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF) and more than 30 donors and participating organizations collaborate to give scholarship awards to applicants who apply at this site.

Apply For Automotive Scholarships By March 31

Applications for automotive scholarships funded by the University of the Aftermarket Foundation are being accepted through March 31, 2015. The foundation will award an additional $100,000 in scholarships this year, bringing the total amount of scholarships to be awarded by the foundation to $230,000.

2014 Is Record-Setting Year For Industry-Sponsored Scholarships

The Class of 2014 set a new record in the scholarships awarded through the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) scholarships, University of the Aftermarket (UAF) scholarships and collaborating organizations at the automotivescholarships.com website: 295 awards for a total of $320,050. The previous record set in 2013 was 250 awards for $264,050. This year’s recipients include 241 U.S. students and seven Canadian students.

“Braking Bad,” the winning team project from the University of the Aftermarket Leadership 2.0 professional development program, will present on the topic of vehicle safety inspections at the 2014 Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill., from May 20-21.

Automotive Scholarship Application Deadline Is March 31

Applications for automotive scholarships funded by the University of the Aftermarket Foundation are being accepted through March 31. Applicants can apply online. Interested applicants must be pursuing a career in the automotive aftermarket by attending a full-time program at an accredited college, university, or ASE/NATEF certified post-secondary automotive, collision or heavy-duty technician training program.
