ETI is surveying automotive repair facilities to learn what services are offered by shops and which of those services are performed by in-house technicians, outsourced technicians or sending the vehicle to a different shop. The institute also would like to learn which services customers ask for that are currently being turned down and why.

The survey aims to quantify the impact aftermarket service facilities have on the new car buying preferences of consumers. If a particular brand of vehicle is difficult to repair in the aftermarket, are future sales of that brand negatively impacted? By the same token, if a particular brand of vehicle is easy to repair in the aftermarket will sales be boosted due to positive recommendations made to consumers by happy technicians?
The Equipment and Tool Institute is starting off 2015 strongly with a record high membership statistic of 100 Members comprised of 88 Full Members and 12 Associate Members.
