New Rotary Lift EFX90 Scissor Lift Raises Technician Productivity And Lowers Vehicle Downtime

Rotary Lift has introduced the EFX90, the latest addition to its line of heavy-duty inground scissor lifts that use patented design features to lift technician productivity and lower vehicle downtime.

The EFX90 modular inground lift incorporates three heavy-duty scissor sections to lift vehicles weighing up to 90,000 pounds, including articulated buses and vehicles with tandem axles, such as fire trucks, dump trucks, semi trucks and other vocational and over-the-road vehicles.

Like all Rotary Lift heavy-duty inground lifts, the EFX90 includes the company’s patented universal style lifting saddle with flip-up adapters to make lift set-up a breeze, the company says. As a result, the EFX90 is compatible with the industry’s widest selection of lightweight adapters. It has an infinite adjustment range, so technicians can precisely position adapters exactly where they’re needed for proper lifting. The adapters swivel, making it possible to pick up vehicles by either the frame or the axle, according to the company.

“Technicians love how easy it is to set up our heavy-duty scissor lifts,” said Doug Spiller, Rotary Lift heavy-duty product manager. “They can set up the EFX90 in just a few minutes, letting them get to work faster, for less vehicle downtime.”

The EFX90 uses heavier centering links that are 33 percent stronger than those of comparable lifts, according to Rotary Lift. The heavier pivot pins are 37 percent stronger and offer 12.5 percent more bearing surface area for extended service life. The pins are also protected by Rotary Lift’s exclusive Smartguard corrosion protection. In addition, the EFX90’s reinforced cover plates are 59 percent stronger than those used by other inground scissor lifts, the company says.

Because technician safety is paramount, the EFX90 features Rotary Lift’s patented heavy-duty locking system. The EFX90 has been third-party tested by ETL and is ALI certified to meet ANSI safety and performance standards. It is made in the U.S.A.

Comebacks are a hot topic today. You need to track
all comebacks, determine the reason (tech error, part error, training issue,
other) and then calculate the true cost of the comeback.
Here are a few things to consider:
• The loss of time when performing the comeback; time that the tech can use to
perform other work and generate profit;
• The misc costs, such as overhead costs, supplies, cleaners, etc.;
• Towing costs, rental, etc.;
• Cost to morale;
• Reputation damage; and
• Reduction to your profit margin.
For every part issue, you need to
inform your supplier. Sit down with suppliers on a regular basis. Don’t return defective
parts until you have listed the parts, and maintain a report. Document
everything.
Part issues are increasing. Every shop
owner I speak to is frustrated over this.
Remember, comebacks kill your bottom
line. The more comebacks you have, the more they’re killing your profits.
