A 32-year-old Woodbury man was arrested near his Murfreesboro workplace recently on charges of felony theft after a manager at Firestone Complete Auto Care caught him allegedly stealing from the company.
Steven C. Evans, of 144 Valley Drive, Woodbury, was arrested by Officer Micheal Rickard Thursday after a manager of the 303 W. College St. auto shop caught him "stealing tires and loading them into his vehicle," Rickard’s report states.
Firestone General Manager Dean Goril told police he witnessed Evans loading the tires into his vehicle a little after 9 p.m. Friday.
"Mr. Goril followed Mr. Evans’ vehicle until officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle at Mercury Boulevard and Southeast Broad Street," Rickard reported.
Authorities found eight new tires inside Evans’ vehicle, worth a total of approximately $1,800, and an unspecified narcotic. Rickard reported Evans "admitted to the theft of the property."
