There are many things that you as a shop owner can do to build a positive team environment and healthy and productive work atmosphere. According to Larry Sutton from RNR Tire Express, the primary goal of creating a positive work environment is to impact both the customer and employee experience in a positive way.
“We emphasize “serve, not service,” meaning we want to serve our customers rather than just provide them service. When tire dealers have that mentality, the work environment is naturally going to be positive,” says Sutton.
In this article, originally published in Tire Review, ShopOwner’s sister publication, Sutton explains seven business practices that are used within his tire dealership and can be translated to any repair shop to be utilized to create a successful business.
