The Automotive Service Association (ASA)
has announced that this year’s CARS event will include the inaugural Auto
Alliance Innovation, Technology & Telematics Forum. The forum will feature
a panel discussion titled, “Where is Vehicle Technology Headed & What Does
It Mean for Sustainable Transportation, Vehicle Owners, and the Modern Repair
Shop?” with top industry leaders participating, including:
• Frank Weith, general manager,
Connected Car Services with the Volkswagen Group of America
• Eric Berkobin, vice president,
Engineering, of Verizon Telematics
• Roger Saul, Ph.D., director, Vehicle
Research & Test Center at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
(NHTSA)
• Additional automotive industry leaders
The forum will also include a special
guest speaker, a workshop targeting case studies and other exciting
presentations for the automotive repair industry.
With a dedicated half-day, including
breakfast, morning break and lunch, the quantity of leading-edge discussion and
networking opportunities is abundant at this industry-first event, according to
event organizers.
Donny Seyfer of Seyfer Automotive in
Wheat Ridge, Colo., and ASA chairman-elect, said, “We are excited the Auto
Alliance is sponsoring this Technology Forum. Independent repairers will
hear firsthand about new technologies and what lies ahead for our industry.
Attending the forum is an investment in the future of your shop and career!”
The forum will be held Friday, Aug. 1,
in Detroit at the Cobo Center. ASA encourages anyone involved in the automotive
industry to attend this most important automotive repair program.
