‘Technology Evolution, Revolution Or Both’ Addressed At Auto Care Association Briefing At AAPEX

Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association, laid out the vision for the association built on five distinct strategic pillars, each of which address the dramatic growth and change of unprecedented technological changes facing the industry, at a media briefing today at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.

“Today, regardless of whatever part of the world a company comes from or does business in, or whether a company is a manufacturer, supplier, distributor, retailer or service provider, they are an integral part of a new aftermarket that must rely on the most effective use of data and technology to make our supply chain more efficient,” said Hanvey.

Hanvey shared the new association mission: “To protect and advance the interests of businesses providing aftermarket products and services for all classes of motor vehicles.”

Hanvey provided specific examples of the association’s products, programs and initiatives designed to achieve the goals of each strategic pillar. The pillars include:

• Emerging Vehicle Technologies: To ensure our industry can have access to, and take advantage of, emerging vehicle technologies.

• Global Supply Chain Efficiency: Improve global supply chain efficiency through strategic data acquisition and standards adoption.

• Membership Growth and Retention: Review and revise structure of programs and initiatives in order to support membership growth and retention.

• Global Growth Opportunities: Identify global growth opportunities for our members and help eliminate barriers.

• Profile and Influence: Grow the association’s political and financial profile and influence.
