On Friday, Nov. 14, the Automotive Service Association (ASA) and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the light vehicle aftermarket division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), will host the Vehicle Safety Inspection and Maintenance Forum in East Norriton, Pa.

The purpose of the forum is to discuss the importance of periodic motor vehicle inspection programs and what can be done to protect these programs.

Forum participants include:
• Motor Vehicle Administrators
• Law Enforcement
• Aftermarket Representatives
• Automotive Repairers

Tom Gebbie, ASA-PA president, said, “We are excited about the Vehicle Safety Forum coming to Pennsylvania. For a number of years, ASA hosted a national event on vehicle safety. It is only fitting that this first program kick-off in a state with a strong vehicle safety inspection program. We hope automotive repairers and those interested in vehicle safety will attend this most important and timely program.”

Bill Long, AASA president and chief operating officer, said, “The results from the joint survey conducted by AASA and ASA in July 2014 clearly show the majority of service professionals feel that periodic motor vehicle inspection programs are effective and would reduce unsafe cars on the road. AASA and the full service aftermarket manufacturers it represents are pleased to join with ASA in this forum to expand awareness of the importance of these programs to the safety of our nation’s highways and roads.”

This half-day forum will take place at the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP) located at 3311 Swede Road, East Norriton, Pa. The program will begin at noon. ASA encourages anyone involved in the automotive industry to attend this important automotive safety program.
